I do most of my work myself but there are times when I just dont want to do it or when I need it faster than I could do it myself. For those times this is the perfect shop. I've taken 2 of my cars there and they have gone above and beyond every time.

Let me start off by saying I have know John and the service writer for many years. I have worked cars for a long time as a hobby but I can do just about anything. I had a alternator go out in a van I had and didnt have the time to do it myself. I got it up to his shop and was told yes its the alternator and it would be $850 to replace it. I really didn't have time to do it so I said just do it. The next day just for amusement I called the ford dealer and they said it would be $650 to replace it. They were charging more than the dealer. They also fixed a vacuum line for $100 ( I drove it twice before that stopped working again). I picked up the van paid the bill and then drove it to a event I was doing. On the way back from the the event it made a strange noise and then a short time later it started to overheat I pulled over let it cool and then just limped it home. I had the van towed back to Johns shop ($100). They had it a day or two and gave me a list of BS things that are "wrong" with it. One of the things wrong with it was that there is a small wiring harness broken by the fan. I then decided I didn't want them to work on it anymore I will do it my self. I then had it towed back to my house($100). I ripped into to the front end to get to this harness found it the brake in the wires. I then found a 11mm deep socket in the bottom of the fan shroud. a 11mm is used to remove the turbo hoses to get to the alternator. So the diesel mec that they have dropped his socked in the fan and didn't remove it and then the fan picked it up and ripped the harness. I repaired the wiring and put it all back together and it was driving horrible. There was another problem. I then had it towed to the ford dealer($100) They had it a few days and then told me that the PCM is bad and that if the harness that got ripped will short them out. I had them replace it for $1300. I called John and told him the story he told me that he will check into it. I called back in a few days and he said he not missing any sockets and he cant help me. My best thought for anyone needing a repair just take it to the dealer. If the dealer messes anything up they will cover it a lot better than John.

I am a woman that knows how to put gas in my car and drive it. Consequently, I get treated as such. The staff at JC Automotive showed a sincere concern for automotive problems, treated me with the utmost respect and gave me a very fair price for the repairs needed. I'm soooo happy to have them in my corner.

Scam Artists They tried to charge me $65 for a inspection to find out what the problem was. Go across the highway to AAMCO, they do it for free.

Took my F150 in for an inspection sticker and was told I desperately needed an alignment. I questioned reasoning as it rides straight and true. No pulling or tire wear. The inspection tech insisted I would be buying tires soon if not aligned. Well, They are the "Specialists", so I agreed. Left the truck overnight and received a call the next day, explaining that my truck didn't need a single alignment adjustment and the tires look normal for the miles on them and that it would only cost me $45 to get my truck back instead of $89, had it needed the alignment. I asked why I had to pay, since they insisted it needed aligned and it actually didn't. They said I had to pay because they hooked it up to the machine and then actually told me that they had never seen a vehicle that didn't need at least a small alignment. So it seems they feel they can claim every vehicle needs an alignment so they can get an extra $89 job or at least the $45 to look at it. It was clear I wasn't getting anywhere on the phone so I decided to continue the discussion in person. Once arriving to the shop, the older gentlemen at the counter refused to answer my questions on why I was being charged and just insisted I sign the invoice and pay. I have four vehicles I have been taking to them for oil changes and inspections. I hope they spend that $45 wisely as it is the last dollar they will get from me. My dad visits weekly and needed some work on his truck last week, we took it to another shop.

My car was repaired within one day and the service was really affordable and i'm sure a lot less than what I would pay at the dealership. The customer service was great and they provided shuttle service to pick up my car. They also gave me a $15 discount for being a first time customer. I will definitely return for routine maintenance.

I think you tell a lot about a company about how they handle a warranty repair issue and in this arena, JC Autospec really proved why they deserve so many five star reviews. My son’s rather old Buik Roadmaster needed a new a/c system, which they installed before a road trip he took to Dallas and Houston. On his way back from Houston, he got stranded in La Grange when the car would not start. I thought it may be a battery issue, but after various attempts at jumping it, he had the car towed a short distance to a local mechanic (and I drove out there to pick him up.) The La Grange mechanic looked at it and it turned out some clutch on the new a/c compressor had seized. This prevented the main belt from turning and is the reason the car would not start. The next day I spoke to JC Autospec and they had the car towed back to Austin and repaired without any quibble. We discussed whether they plan to get the warranty repair done in Round Rock or by the mechanic in La Grange. Towing it back for JC Autospec to do it, meant we did not have to drive back to La Grange again to pick it up, so they decided to do it that way. We get all our vehicles serviced by them and this experience certainly proved why it is good to stick with a company you can trust to deliver what they promise. Highly, highly recommended.

Took my BMW convertible in for new tires ordered from Tire Rack and they scratched a wheel. Most places would have tried to weasel out of it but they were up front and took care of it 100%. That kind of honesty is rare these days. I highly recommend these guys and will continue to use them.
